Civil War: Union and Confederate Strategies
Presented by Dr. Michael J. Deeb

Dr. Michael J. Deeb, a historical novelist, will discuss the implementation of both the Union and Confederate strategies during the Civil War. Specifically, highlighting both why and how these strategies changed during the 18 months of conflict. Initially, the Union strategy was to blockade the South and recapture control of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. The Confederate government's strategy was to protect its borders and its independence.

Saturday, May 18 11:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Children in grades K - 5 are invited to join us for Saturday morning Lego Club! Design and construct an amazing creation, participate in the monthly challenge, and display your creation in the library if you'd like! All supplies are provided.
Lego Club is made possible in part by the Mid-Michigan Library League.

Friends of the Library Used Book Store
The Friends of the Library Bookstore is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Browse through a variety of gently used fiction and non-fiction books, children's books, audiobooks, and DVDs. The Friends are also accepting book donations.
