Mae West shattered box office records and public sensibilities. She rocketed from Broad- way to become the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. Her one-liners scandalized the censors yet made her an icon. She rescued studios from bankruptcy and created stars. Without her, Cary Grant may have remained a nobody. Meet the woman behind the wit. Who was Mae West, really? Martina Mathisen, educational entertainer, presents this fun and engaging program. The link to attend this Zoom presentation will be posted here prior to the event.

President Abraham Lincoln shares our nation’s history and his own personal history by way of some of his favorite stories and jokes. Mr. Lincoln sometimes told these jokes and Stories simply to entertain, but more often than not, when he would begin “That reminds me of a little story…”, there were other reasons, too. He might wish to illustrate a point, relieve tension, or distract from the difficulties and hard realities of life, especially in the midst of the Civil War. Mr. Lincoln’s stories will make you laugh, but many will also cause you to reflect on life, people, and the world we live in. The link to attend this Zoom presentation will be posted here prior to the event.
