Virtual Family Events

Enjoy magic, comedy, theater, puppetry, music, and science from the comfort of your own home!  

All events will be online.  The performers will be using Zoom, YouTuEL-2.jpgbe, or Facebook Live for their presentations.  All Zoom events require registration, but YouTube and Facebook Live events do not.  Registrants will be emailed the Zoom link and login information prior to the Zoom events.  Families who will be using one device to attend only need to register once.  You can also email info@mtplibrary.org or call 231-972-8315 to register or if you have any questions.  

Scheer Genius presents "Dumpster Doug - A Magical Ecology Show"

Wednesday, June 17th  1:30 p.m.
Join Dumpster Doug for a live broadcast program of interactive magic and fun with a message about protecting the Earth.  The show will begin promptly at 1:30 so "arrive" early.  The link to attend is https://youtu.be/R-LXedHJMEE.  Registration is not required for this event.  

Baffling Bill and Company present "Imagine Your Story: A Virtual Magic Reading Show"

Wednesday, June 24th 
Celebrate summer reading with this incredible magic show starring Baffling Bill and friends filmed love from his illusionarium theater!  Witness astounding feats of magic including the Enchanted Doll House illusion, Floating Lady, Gus the Bunny and more!  Don't miss this one time event - fun for the whole family.  The program will be posted on our website the morning of Wednesday, June 24th and will be available for viewing at your convenience any time that day only.  

Magic Workshop with Jeff Wawrzaszek 

*Recommeded for ages 8 and up

Thursday, June 25 1:30 p.m.
Learn several easy-to-master tricks commonly performed by many of today's top professional magicians.  Perform these amazing illusions for your family and friends using simple items that can be found around the house.  A list of materials to gather prior to the workshop will be emailed to participants.  This will be a Zoom workshop, so registration is required.  Please register here.  

Acting Up Theatre presents "Imagine You're King"

Journey to Samelot where the King has decided to take some time off and needs to find someone to take overt he kingdom.  Will it be you? Amazing Clark presents "Jo-Jo Fish and the Magic Pearl Puppet Show"

Wednesday, July 8 1:30 p.m.
Travel with Jo-Jo Fish and his friends on an underwater adventure to recover the magic pearl from Rex the Shark.  This funny and interactive show will delight children of all ages.  This will be a Zoom presentation, so registration is required.  Please register here.  

Spoon Man presents "Catch the Rhythm of Reading!"

Wednesday, July 15th  1:30 p.m.
Join the Spoon Man as he turns the art of spoon playing into a stirring musical performance.  This fun-filled show will feature comedy and a spoon playing workshop.  Pull out a pair of spoons from your kitchen drawer and join the fun!  This will be a Zoom presentation, so registration is required.  Please register here.

Howell Nature Center presents "Myth Crackers" - Live Animal Show

Wednesday, July 22 12:30 p.m.
Are owls really wise?  Do turtles come out of their shells?  A biologist from Howell Nature Center will help the audience determine whether common wildlife myths are "correct" or "cracked" during this fun and interactive live animal presentation.  This will be a Zoom Presentation.  Please register here.

Mad Hatter Joel's Wonder Reader Show

Visit a Wonderland of Reading with Mad Hatter Joel featuring dazzling music, silly stunts, and goofy gadgets.  This wholesome youth program will have kids and grown-ups laughing out loud and crazy about reading!  This will be presented Live on Facebook.  Stay tuned for details. 

Science Tellers present "Dragons: Return of the Ice Sorceress"

Wednesday, July 29th 1:30 p.m.
A long time ago in a faraway world, two brave villagers go on a daring journey to release the dragons and save the kingdom from the Evil Ice Sorceress.  When things don't go as planned, however, they might need to look to themselves (and to science!) for the answer.  Don't miss this fun fantasy adventure featuring awesome dry ice effects!  This will be presented on Zoom, so registration is required.  Please register here.
