Support Your Library

The library holds many examples of the generosity of our patrons and the community. You can give to the Morton Township Library in several different ways: by becoming a volunteer, by joining the Friends of the Library, or by making a monetary donation.

Volunteering

Morton Township Library has a very active volunteer program.  Volunteers shelve books, assist at the circulation desk, assist with the children's summer reading program, and perform tasks assigned by library staff.  Anyone interested in volunteering at the library may pick up an application during library hours.  Another great way to volunteer and contribute to the success of the library is by becoming a member of the Friends of the Library.

Memorial Bookshelf or Honorary Gifts

We remember people in many ways and for many different reasons.  We remember them on special occasions, during times of illness, sorrow and loss.  When we reach out to others in gratitude, it is often because of memory locked deep in our hearts.  Gratitude is a way of saying thank you to others for being a part of our lives.  For over 30 years, Morton Township Library has honored loved ones with the Memorial Bookshelf.  A memorial gift is placed in a book fund and an appropriate book plate is placed in the volume to be added to the library's collection.

Operating Fund

A monetary gift may be given to supplement the library's operating fund.  It may be designated for books or other library materials, small furnishings, or programs for children or adults.

Endowment Fund

The Morton Township Library Endowment Fund supports the long-term interests of the library in the areas of education, projects, and special resources beyond the confines of the library budget.  The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to enrich, not to replace, traditional tax-based support for the library through gifts from indivduals and organizations.  The Endowment Fund provides you with an opportunity to give any gift, large or small, to support the work of the library.  All gifts are used to build the fund's principal.  The earning on the investments are used for education, special projects and resources.

Matching Gifts Program

Morton Township Library participates in the Matching Gifts Program offered through places of employment.  The library gladly accepts matching gifts.
